Congratulations to our Spring 2016 $1,000 Winner!

Congratulations to Sara K! She is our Spring 2016 session $1,000 winner! Sara lost 9.25 inches and lost nearly 2% body fat. She also got a lot stronger - pumping out 24 more pushups and 24 more situps in 60 seconds than she did at her initial testing. Way to go Sara!

Winter 2016 $1,000 Winner!

Congratulations to Rob S. from our 6am team! Rob worked hard and won $1,000 for the biggest transformation of the session. Rob lost 4% body fat and 12 1/4 total inches. He got stronger too...adding 32 pushups and 14 situps in the 60 second fitness test.

Level 2 Kickboxing and Strength Instructor
 
I completed my 10-week program in October 2010, and became an instructor in December 2011. I've been teaching both kickboxing and strength training classes for over four years.

I believe in the FXB program for several reasons, but the two that stick out to me are that it's realistic to maintain and fun (in a challenging way). I believe those two factors go hand in hand, and are essential for a happy, healthy lifestyle.

Outside of the gym you'll find me cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones and finding fun ways to stay active with my friends: yoga, running, wakeboarding - you name it! I also enjoy attending local events like Nightfall on the River and Winefest.
 
At the gym you'll find me teaching and attending the 6:00 a.m. class, with some other morning classes mixed in. I also teach on Saturdays and always look forward to my favorite class of the week - 7:00 a.m. FIT!

Hard Work Pays off at Farrell’s

About 18 months ago I was wheelchair bound. I had bilateral fasciotomies in both feet. I have deep vein thrombosis among several other lower body ailments. Chrondo patella syndrome in both knees and degenerative joint disease in my left hip and left ankle. The VA was kind enough to give me a custom wheelchair, but I was not settling for that. If I could still take a step, I was determined to stay out of that chair as a permanent fixture or extension of my body. Today I am a KICKBOXER and doing things I was told I would never be able to do again such as walk, jump, run, etc.
