Summer of Giving!

Do you know a local charity that could use a little extra support and recognition? Nominate them for
Farrell's Summer of Giving!

We want to support our community by giving away $500 to a local charity PLUS $10 per FXB enrollment in this summer's session.

From now through May 3, nominate your favorite local charity. Just fill out this simple form and your charity will be nominated.

Voting will take place May 10-17 via Facebook. The winning charity will be presented with $500 at the Spring 10-week party on June 10 and the $10 per summer enrollment will be presented after the start of the Summer session.

Lock up your scale!

Often, when a person focuses on rapid weight loss, they put it back on quickly. Why is this? It’s because in order to lose weight rapidly you have to limit your caloric intake. You will start to lose muscle, which actually slows down your metabolism. Your body starts to move into survivor mode because it can’t depend on you for a consistent source of fuel. When you combine this with working out, you put your body into a crisis mode. You might start to see the weight drop off quickly, but with your slowing metabolism it won’t stay off unless you continue to decrease your caloric intake. That’s not realistic. We have to LIVE! Don’t focus on weight loss!

Level 3 Kickboxing & Strength Training Instructor

I have been with Farrell's since 2002 and instructor since 2005. I teach strength training, kickboxing and FIT classes.
Aside from the excellent life lessons on nutrition and importance of both strength and cardio training in exercising, I have never found a more fun way to do cardio and interval training than an FXB kickboxing class.
Outside of the gym I also coach basketball, lift weights and spend time with my family.
I regularly teach classes at 7:45pm on Wednesday and Thursday and FIT classes on Saturday.
